Apple unexpectedly re-released the third builds for some of its fall operating system releases, including iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia.

While Apple regularly releases updates to its betas as new features are introduced, it can occasionally re-release a beta round with new builds. On Monday, Apple did just that with iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15's third beta.

The betas of tvOS 18, watchOS 11, and visionOS 2.0 were not reissued but may still be in the future.

The third round of most of its betas was seeded on July 8, with macOS Sequoia arriving on July 10. The second betas were issued on June 24.

It is unclear exactly what has changed in the build re-release, but it is likely to be some smaller bug fixes rather than major feature changes.

The betas are for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, tvOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, as well as visionOS 2.

Apple is currently holding two separate developer beta tracks at the same time. Along with the fall launches, it's also testing out the current-gen operating system's betas too.

The rereleased third developer betas of iOS and iPadOS 18 are build number 22a5307i replacing 22A5307f. The rereleased third build of macOS Sequoia is build number 24A5289h.

The third beta for iOS 18 made significant changes to Dark Mode icons, refined the flashlight controls, and included elements pointing towards a rumored Apple home hub.

AppleInsider and Apple strongly recommend that users avoid installing test operating systems or other beta or RC software on "mission-critical" or primary devices, as there is the small chance of issues that could result in the loss of data. Testers should instead use secondary or non-essential hardware and ensure they have sufficient backups of their critical data at all times.

Updated both my Mac and iPhone and noticed that I was no longer having a problem when using iPhone mirroring of getting into apps that I had locked. I was getting an error previously and now it prompts me for a password or touchID on the Mac and the app functions fine.
