Apple's 'Underdogs' are back for a mad dash across Thailand
Every possible Apple device -- for the first time including the Apple Vision Pro -- is shown off in the latest of Apple's funny and tense "Underdogs" videos.
Actor and comedian Mia Schauffler stars in a new "Underdogs" ad for Apple
, "The Underdogs" was a seemingly one-off ad showing a group of office colleagues. Since then, it's become a whole series of adventures -- although after five years, Apple still isn't crediting who writes, directs, or stars in any of it.
In the style of 2023's episode, the new edition is a ten-minute comedy thriller called "The Underdogs: OOO (Out of Office)." Having left their corporate office jobs to start a company in 2022's video, the team is now trying to secure an order for their packaging business.
They're successful -- but too successful. For most of the video, most of the team are racing around Thailand trying to meet the quantities and design demands of their client.
One member of the team is at home in the US, but following along through an Apple Vision Pro. It's this member who repeatedly saves the day in the plot, which is a really well-written mini-adventure.
It's just also a mini-adventure that happens to take in 31 features of the Mac, Apple Vision Pro, iPhone, and iPad. They're all listed in the credits at the end, where there's also a "Guest appearances" list that includes Apple Watch, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, Apple Wallet, Apple Fitness+, Stickers, Memoji, Watch faces, and seven apps.
On its YouTube listing description, Apple does once more credit Hauschka for original music. Hauschka presumably has a better contract than the cast, crew, and writer, though AppleInsider can reveal that Bridget is played by Mia Schauffler.
