The Paris Olympic Games will be taking place this summer, and the various sporting events that take place over a brief few weeks will be watched by millions around the world.

To keep up with the action, Apple device users can use a variety of different avenues, whether they are in France or staying at home.

Apple Maps

For visitors to Paris, Apple Maps will be invaluable, thanks to real-time transit updates for the Paris Metro, RER, Paris tramway, RATP buses, and more. Maps will be kept up to date on details on road closures and other games-related travel advisories.

Maps also adds 3D landmarks of the permanent venues, including the Centre Aquatique Olympique and the Parc de Princes. Pop-up locations, including temporary venues and shops, will also be included for the first time ever on Maps.

There is also a variety of Maps Guides to use in Paris, covering restaurants, hotels, and shopping in the city.

Sports coverage

There are quite a few ways to experience the Olympic Games through the App Store as well. For a start, the official Paris 2024 Olympics app is a go-to resource featuring spotlights on popular events and guides to stream the games from local broadcasters.

In the United States, coverage is offered exclusively via Peacock and NBC Sports, which will include customized playlists of highlights for each user via "Your Daily Olympic Recap." Each compilation will also be narrated by an AI recreation of sportscaster Al Michaels.

On the Apple TV, NBC Universal's coverage can also be found on the NBC Olympics Hub within the Apple TV app.

Podcasts, News, and Music

On Apple Podcasts, a host of spotlight shows will offer a celebration of sports and coverage of the games. That includes "Two Guys, Five Rings," "My New Favorite Olympian," and "The Podium."

In Apple News, users can follow curated coverage of the action, with content from The Athletic, ESPN, USA Today, and more. There's also a medals table, and a schedule of upcoming events.

For those more inclined to care about France more than the Olympics, Apple Music is offering A Guide to French Music. An editorial feature, it will celebrate the country's musical riches.

    Good luck with Apple Maps.
I live in Paris and there are many obvious mistakes.
The process of reporting them to Apple is depressing, there is one I had to report 10 times, with screenshots, instructions on how to reproduce the erroe, Waze and Google results, before it got corrected.
And for the same (6 streets) crossing, the same error is still exists if you arrive from a different street, andd Apple Maps still makes you do a stupid maneuver.
So I've stopped reporting those issues.
I hoped it would get better before the Olympics but it didn't.

Here is an example of stupid route. I had the one when arriving from "Avenue de Breteuil" (on the right of the screen, and the most expensive street in the French Monopoly) corrected after many attempts.

Apple News isn't even available in France or many other countries - https://support.apple.com/en-us/118205. You probably need a US account to get access.

Samsung is a main sponsor for the event and will hand out 17,000 flip phones to athletes using a design that Apple currently can't match.

Poor athletes getting a phone that’s twice as thick as an iPhone with a crease in the middle of the screen.

Someone clearly doesn't know the difference between a flip phone and a folding phone.

What!? AI is talking to its audience, primarily in the US. Also, because News is not available in France, they shouldn't cover the olympics?
