Nintendo ending 'Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp', plans offline relaunch
Seven years after its launch, Nintendo is choosing to sunset its "Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp" in the fall -- but players shouldn't fret just yet.

In 2017, Nintendo launched Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, a free-to-play social game set in the Animal Crossing series. Now, almost exactly seven years after its launch, the game will be drawing to a close.
"Since service began on November 21st 2017, for approximately seven years we have been honored to see everyone's lovely, diverse campsites grow and flourish," Nintendo wrote in a statement, spotted by MacRumors. "We extend our heartfelt thanks to the many users who have loved Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp."
The online service will end on November 29, 2024. Once the service ends, players will no longer be able to play the online game.
But, in a surprising move, Nintendo isn't planning on canning the concept entirely, the way it did with Miitomo.
Instead, developers plan on launching a paid offline version of the app around the time that it ends service for Pocket Camp. The app will be a one-time paid app with no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Players will be able to transfer the data from their previous game into the new app. It will retain most of the features of Pocket Camp, though the social features, like Market Boxes, gifts, and visiting other campsites, will be stripped out.
However, Nintendo warns that players' Leaf Tickets will not be usable and will not transfer over to the new app.
