New report confirms iPhone 16 launch is on September 10

Following our original report putting the iPhone 16 and other hardware event on September 10, another source is confirming the date and release schedule.

September is the traditional month for Apple's fall releases to be introduced, including its flagship launches like the iPhone 16 device range. While Apple has yet to actually confirm when the event will take place, a report on Friday makes the claim that it will happen on September 10.

Friday's report from Bloomberg cites "people familiar with the situation" in marking the date for the launch. Despite a lack of an announcement as of yet, the report says that Apple is "making preparations for that date."

After the event itself, Apple will be putting its new products on sale starting from September 20, the report adds. The release list will include iPhones, AirPods, and the Apple Watch Series 10.

What probably won't make it to the event are Macs, which tend to arrive a month later during an October event.

Guessable timing

While it is getting quite close to the period that observers would expect for the launch event to occur, the report isn't entirely surprising.

The September 10 date, as previously discussed at length by AppleInsider, is expected by many for a number of reasons. This includes things like Apple preferring to launch products on a Tuesday in early September.

Since September 3 follows Labor Day, that makes September 10 a more likely prospect.

It's even been speculated in fake invitations for the Apple Event as the probable launch date.

What the report does do is offer a claim that someone in or close enough to Apple is allegedly aware that the date is officially September 10.

However, despite the educated guesswork of the rumor mill and the general belief of it happening on September 10, it's entirely possible for Apple to use a different date entirely.

No-one will truly know when the Apple Event will be outside of the company until invitations get sent out. Real ones this time.

Do we need an Apple Event for 2 GB extra to support AI initially in 1 market, an extra button, Zune brown, faster wifi, and 5-7% larger batteries?

Yes. Well, the faster WiFi, no, but new iPhone models overall? Yes.

Yes.  And can you just imagine if 20 years from now an unopened Zune in brown makes the headlines for being sold to highest bidder at $300,000 ?

Not sure, but maybe because of the debate that day between Harris and Trump. But the Apple event is in the morning in the US and the debate is in the evening. So it must be because it’s World Suicide Prevention Day. Yea, that’s it.

So what you’re saying is I’ll be glued to my MacBook screen all day on the 10th and both events will likely cause me to laugh, cry and cost me money lol.

Exactly right. It’s a fitting precursor to 9/11remembrances.

Monday the 9th and not Tuesday the 10th. Unusual? Yes it is, but there's news coming from the EU on Tuesday that may overshadow anything Apple announces.

Perhaps a certain multi-$Billion tax case?
