Apple TV+ thriller "Slow Horses" won its creator and executive producer Will Smith an Emmy in an otherwise weak year for the streamer.

"Slow Horses" has been
honored for its writing before, but this was its first nomination at the 76th Emmys. Showrunner Will Smith won for the drama's third season, based on Mick Herron's book "Real Tigers," which streamed on Apple TV+ in November and December 2023.

"The Morning Show" also took home an Emmy, this time a second win for star Billy Crudup in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Together with the previously-announced Emmy wins in the craft categories, Apple TV+ earned 10 Primetime Emmy Awards. However, across all categories it had received 72 nominations.

At the last Emmys, the delayed 75th ceremony, Apple also had 10 wins, though only one was won at the main event. That was for Paul Walter Hauser winning the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, for "Black Bird," one of 54 nominations Apple received.

The new fourth season of "Slow Horses" is currently streaming. A fifth has completed filming.

I love Slow Horses. It's just the right level of predictable to be fun and it never outstays its welcome.

Slow Horses is a great show.  I was also hoping for some recognition to Apple for "Pachinko" now streaming season 2.  But to date the best series ever on ATV was two seasons of "Tehran."

I think Mr. Oldman should have won best actor. We really enjoy Slow Horses.
