As the first pre-orders arrive, the iPhone 16 can now be bought in Apple Stores, as well as ordered online for immediate shipping.

First unveiled at the "It's Glowtime" event, preorders for the iPhone 16 began on September 13, with a shipping date of September 20. Now that shipping date has arrived, the preorder stage is over and any iPhone 16 can be ordered online for immediate despatch, or in-store pickup.

It's also now on sale in Apple's retail stores, which means users can examine the new phone in person. It also means that if Apple sold out of a particular color and storage combination during the preorder stage, it's likely to be available in stores.

Starting at $799 for 128GB of storage, the iPhone 16 comes in ultramarine, teal, pink, white, and black. A 256GB version costs $899, and a largest capacity available is a 512GB model which starts at $1,099.

The iPhone 16 comes with a 6.1-inch screen, while the iPhone 16 Plus has a 6.7-inch one. That larger iPhone 16 Plus comes in the same colors, and has the same storage options.

For the iPhone 16 Plus, the base is again 128GB, which costs $899. The 256GB model is $899, and the maximum 512GB is $1,199.

Even in stores, stocks will sell out. So perhaps ironically, the way to beat the online Apple Store having sold out, is to go to the online Apple Store.

Toward the end of the order process, Apple offers the option for in-store pickup. It also then shows nearby stores and whether they currently have stock.

Apple has launched a series of eight silicone-based iPhone 16 cases

That stock will certainly include Apple's own new iPhone 16 cases. Made from silicone and coming in eight colors, they're also available from Amazon for $49 each.

There is a much wider range of case, and price, though, from third-party firms. The range of these will only keep growing in the first months of the iPhone 16 being on sale, but at present here is the AppleInsider guide to the best of them.

The first reviews of the new iPhone 16, and the iPhone 16 Plus, have been generally positive. All, however, note that Apple has yet to release Apple Intelligence, which this iPhone was reportedly designed for.

I think you meant iPhone 16 Plus for the article title, not the Pro?

The pro isn’t available quite yet.

Ordering the one 1TB version you’re not gonna get it until two-three weeks out. order the max version and you’re not getting it for 3-4 weeks all storage sizes. 256GIG -1TB.
last year’s bestsellers for the 15 were the most expensive Pro iPhones at the top of the range.
