App Store connection issues are preventing users from downloading apps

Apple's App Store and Mac App Store are having issues on Wednesday, with users unable to download apps among other problems with the digital sales platform.

A number of Mac and iPhone users discovered that they were not able to download apps from the App Store and the Mac App Store. AppleInsider editorial team members were able to confirm the problem existed, but it was a periodic issue for some writers.

It is unclear how many people are affected by the outages, but some have taken to X to post about their inability to install apps. It doesn't appear to stop users from browsing the App Store, only downloading new apps.

While it is unclear if Apple is aware of the issue, an inspection of the System Status page, as well as the Developer System Status page, shows that Apple has dealt with a lot of connected problems.

On the System Status page, it lists two current outages affecting the Subscription Purchase and Volume Purchase Program, which are listed as started from 11 A.M. Eastern.

The Developer version includes a long list of resolved outages from late on Tuesday night. The list includes App Store Connect, as well as TestFlight, the App Store Connect API, App Processing, App Store Server Notifications, and Analytics.

There were also overnight resolved outages for Apple Podcasts Connect and Apple Music for Artists.

The status pages also mention a resolved issue with Xcode Cloud from Tuesday night. There are also resolved issues for Apple Business Essentials Apple Business Manager, and Apple School Manager.
