Apple seeds second release candidate for macOS Sequoia 15.1
Apple has issued its second release candidate for macOS Sequoia 15.1, as the public release of the operating system update with Apple Intelligence grows nearer.

The first release candidate for macOS Sequoia 15.1 was seeded by Apple on October 21. Three days later, Apple has brought out a second RC build for testing by developers.
The second RC version is build number 24B83, replacing 24B82.
It is unclear exactly what has changed between the first and second release candidates. At this stage, it is likely to be more minor tweaks or behind-the-scenes alterations instead of major changes.
The update's main focus is Apple Intelligence, Apple's generative AI-based set of features. The initial wave includes Writing Tools, which helps users edit, correct, and rewrite text in different styles.
Apple is concurrently running a developer beta for macOS 15.2, which introduces more Apple Intelligence features. They include ChatGPT integration with Siri, as well as generative image features including Genmoji.
AppleInsider and Apple strongly advise that users do not install test operating systems or other beta or RC software onto "mission-critical" or primary hardware, due to the small chance of issues that could result in the loss of data. Testers should therefore use secondary or non-essential devices and make sure they have sufficient backups of any critical data.
