New Macs, new iOS 18.2, and debunked Apple rumors, on the AppleInsider Podcast
Apple has now promised us a week of what appears to be new Mac announcements, just as analysts start saying iPhone sales are failing, and Apple Intelligence is finally upon us.
Apple's week of Mac announcements is coming
It's not as if it matters when this podcast is recorded, but this time you will hear Wesley Hilliard in mid-sentence as Apple makes its latest announcement. W practically need a Breaking News theme.
That announcement promises a week of excitement -- Apple's words -- so Wes and William Gallagher get to counting on their fingers just what can come out when. Plus, this is a curious week to release new Macs because it's as certain as can be that the first round of Apple Intelligence will be released on October 28.
It's not like Apple to try stealing its own thunder, so perhaps there's a connection. Perhaps these new Macs leverage Apple Intelligence in some way we don't yet know.
Apple Intelligence is on both Mac and iPhone, but in testing out the betas, it seems clear that it is going to be used the most on iOS and iPadOS. So perhaps Apple just figures that the number of people into the Mac is dwarfed by the number of iPhone users.
Although we are also at that precise time of year when analysts start reporting cuts in iPhone orders. This time the claim is that the iPhone 16 range is failing because Apple Intelligence has not been the hit Apple expected.
You know, the Apple Intelligence that isn't out until October 28.
