Political Content on the Forums

Hey guys,

Tech is no doubt going to be entangled with political affairs for years to come, whether it is the EU, Brazil, China, Australia, Taiwan, India, or the United States. Apple exists on a connected, global stage and there's no getting around that fact.

That said, please consider this a gentle reminder that these forums are primarily for discussing all things Apple. If a subject is political in nature, like regulations, sanctions, tariffs, or even dinners with the president, then commentary is allowed -- so long as it stays on topic.

That means no mud-slinging, no name-calling, and no grandiose professions or lamentations of fealty. These can-do-no-wrong or does-everything-wrong posts skirt our commenting guidelines and only serve to incense opposing perspectives. At the end of the day they're just noise that does not meaningfully contribute to the conversation. We do our best to remain neutral in our reporting, despite our personal beliefs, so please at least try and meet us halfway.

As per our Commenting Guidlines, posts that are flagged and/or go too far will be deleted. We'll try to state as much when it occurs, but we do not have the bandwidth to moderate 24/7. In this regard we could use your help. If you see something that violates our guidelines please flag it to bring it to our attention. Conversations about moderation actions should either be done via email or via DM on these forums.

Let's not have our forum devolve like so many other places on the internet. We want to foster an active, healthy, welcoming community here. We don't want to return to the time where we simply disabled comments on posts that were political.

As always, we're open to your feedback. If there is something you'd like to see us do that we're not currently doing, please let us know.
