Yeah I’m going to limit my purchases with Apple even if I have to hold onto my devices for the next 7 to 10 years.  Apple used to stand on principle, but I guess they surrender to dictators
I've seen several people declare that they're not buying Apple anymore, but I wonder what the alternative is? Google, Meta, and Microsoft have been doing way more to curry favor. By comparison Apple has done the bare minimum and seems to be actively pushing back where it can and only following through when pressured.

I mean, I guess you could move to Canada and live in a tech free cabin, but it'll apparently be the 51st state so you can't escape for long. :D

ha that’s funny yeah I’m not clearly Canadian lol,  I really want my own MAGA free planet.

but on a serious note, my ancestors have always fought for American democracy and equal rights, even when so-called Americans despise a democracy.   so I’m not going to leave this place; however I’m gonna let my voice be known.

Next, please explain how exactly is posting about privacy on X being witty? What is on your mind with this?
The team at Apple had to run ads on X for political reasons but spent it on telling users how to be worth less to the platform. That is well executed.

I can see Google and Meta bowing down before Trump, only because they have court cases in front of the DOJ, but what did Microsoft do? I know that they donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration, but so did Tim Apple. Last I saw, Microsoft was doubling down on their DEI efforts, along with Apple, Costco, JP Morgan Chase, etc.

Fair enough, Microsoft donating its own money VS Tim Cook giving from his pockets might be the biggest difference for those companies. Microsoft has done pretty much the same as Apple on every other count, including updating Bing maps.

But my point still stands. Quitting Apple is just cutting off your nose to spite your face. You gain nothing. There's no one else to turn to. At least Apple is seemingly trying to distance itself as much as it can. The alternative is no technology.

It's always important to remember that the public facing version of Tim Cook is not the same Tim Cook you would see behind closed doors, in a critical business discussion with his direct reports, or a closed business session with his Senior VPs, VPs, and Directors. Tim Cook is a straight up businessman with a killer instinct to win and win big. Don't forget that after you finish watching one of his keynotes.

I'm pretty sure that you can call the self-proclaimed Nazis on X Nazis. This isn't an example of someone exaggerating and overusing a misunderstood term. It's pretty spot on. Neo Nazis call X home. Should Apple ads be showing up next to their content? It's a good question.

As an Apple stockholder and fanboy, I’m disappointed.
As an Apple stockholder (and fanboy) you can do something about that, you know.

As you can tell from my username, I’m not happy Macrumors closed comments on this mundane story.

We the people should be able to comment on any story.  Thank you AppleInsider for keeping the flow of opinions open.

That said, who cares.  X is the #1 social media platform for news.  Why shouldn’t they advertise on X.  It makes smart business sense.  It makes more sense than the Apple Vision Pro toy for $3500
Elon funds far right wing extremist group AfD in Germany politics, and I watched an interview of Elon's father admit that Elon's grand father in Canada supported the Nazis.  My father served in WWII and he would be absolutely disgusted by the support of Elon and X if he was stlll alive.   It seems as though America is becoming a cross between Nazi Germany and Russia.  disgusting.  Tim has no moral compass.

I'm an old American. I have observed my entire life that Americans never really hated the NAZIs - at least those born after the war. Post war the American fascination with everything German and NAZI was widespread. We even made a sitcom about Germans and NAZIs. People ravenously collected any sort of WWII German memorabilia and the more NAZI it was the more valuable it became. I knew some people who had a German Shephard named Rommel and a little black cat with a white face and tiny black mustache named Adolf. Americans have been obsessed with NAZIs for a long, long time and it'snot surprising that once a national figure gave them permission to openly love NAZIsm that they would jump at the chance. Tim is no NAZI and is doing his duty as CEO to protect the company and the shareholders from destruction. Not to mention I believe Tim really loves Apple and he won't let anyone hurt it.
