Five years after Photoshop landed on the iPad, Adobe has finally brought its popular photo editing software to the iPhone.

Photoshop comes to iPhone

Yes, you're reading that right. Starting today, Adobe Photoshop is available on the iPhone. That means you can now edit images with Photoshop from wherever you are.

With a completely overhauled UI designed for mobile interfaces, using Photoshop on iPhone is as easy as using it on iPad.

Now, iPhone photographers, digital artists, and content creators can edit images nondestructively on the go. Users will also have access to familiar features like selections, layers, and masks.

A helpful Tap Select tool makes it easy for users to replace, remove, or recolor parts of an image. The Spot Healing Brush makes an appearance as well, helping users to brush away distractions instantly.

Adobe Firefly generation features are available, too. This includes generative fill and generative expand.

All of these features will be provided for free, though there are additional premium features available as part of a subscription.

These features include:

  • Access to Photoshop on the Web

  • Expanded access to Firefly-powered tools including Generate Similar and Reference Image

  • Access to more than 20,000 fonts

  • Enhanced selection tools like Object Select and Magic wand

  • Advanced removal and editing tools like Remove Tool, Clone Stamp, and Content-Aware fill

  • Lighten and Darken tools, perfect for adjusting brightness without affecting hue or saturation

requires iOS 17 will be able to be downloaded from the App Store later today..

Those who already pay for Photoshop through a Creative Cloud All-Apps bundle, or those who pay for a Photoshop-only or Photography app bundle will have access to premium features.

If you're new to Adobe products or just looking for Photoshop Mobile access, you can purchase it standalone for $7.99 a month, or $69.99 annually. This covers both Photoshop on iPhone and Photoshop on iPad, as well as access to Photoshop on the web.

For Android users, don't worry -- Adobe says that Photoshop will be available on Android later this year.

Then you are not purchasing it, you are renting it.

Very unstable.  Crash City no matter what I threw at it as a Photoshop pro since the early 1990s.

Needs a LOT of work yet.
