Hahahahah...I'm laughing now because all the democrats and Kamala warned everyone that this would happen. I move my portfolio to 95% cash over a month ago because I knew stupid is what stupid does. I'm waiting for the economy to implode so I can go buy some super cheap stocks. Meanwhile, I want all of the Trump voters to reflect on their vote.
Yea I might get back into APPL soon as well. But it’s still Disaster for the world.
And people used to complain about Biden being senile...
These are the presidential choices we're getting nowadays, senile vs lunatic. Take your pick!
Sorry...the supposedly "senile" Biden dropped out and voters could have chosen Kamala Harris. Instead, they picked the guy that gave them senility and insanity in the same package.
Many couldn't find a great candidate to vote for and decided not to vote at all. I know it was the case in our jurisdiction at least.
Y'all don't understand the point of tariffs. Nothing but blind anger. Other countries have tariffs on us, but we don't have any on them. We're just levelling the table. We definitely need these tariffs because they will help us more in the long term. You guys are all about the future right? We want that debt to go down, so this is the way to do it. Also, this will make us more independent, which will lead to more jobs in the US.
Ohh.. the cult members and their blind faith in Dear Leader.
I like the idea of things made in the US; however, there needs to be a roadmap, not what this buffoon is doing. Also retaining a positive relationship with the rest of the world and not being a bully, is key to a successful future.

That is not accurate. The way Trump is calculating tariffs is by simply dividing imports & exports the US has with other countries. So if you divide the imports of say Vietnamese goods into the US over our exports to Vietnam, you'll get 90%. That is not a tariff, it's how much your product is appealing or affordable to others. Moreover, if a country buys more goods from the US that it sells (the reverse of the pervious scenario) they still pay a tariff! It's where you see the 10% on some countries. It's makes zero logic and is laughable, I can see why other countries are aggravated.
Tim Apple should have realised that donating to Trump only buys you access, not truth or favours.
The question is, is Trump acting the way he does because of some overall strategy, or does he just react on a day to day basis based on his unrivalled narcissism and state of mind from moment to moment?

YES! Omg Brazil is the king of tariffs.
Our taxes on china are over 100%, and guess what?
We have a lot of factories being built inside our country. We will export iPhones to the US on our Foxconn factory and BYD its building a huge factory here.
Everyone in the country wins with tariffs. Chine will still profit, but our country will get a part of it.
What a bunch of sore losers. If Kamala did that, these people would clap, "she is stimulating American jobs, it's only fair!".

Imagine what you could do if you were a billionaire or multi-multimillionaire (like most of Tr*mp's cabinet) and knew, say, a day or two in advance that the stock market would crash by almost ten percent because of some insane announcement… you and your buddies could make BILLIONS, literally overnight.
To think this utter madman also has his finger on the nuclear button. He’s out of control but none of his team can do anything about it. Bit like Putin.
Last night I was listening to a history podcast. the subject was Emperor Caligula. The important point was that everyone in the palace and in the Senate knew he was insane. They knew he was making stupid choices that were damaging the empire. But everyone was too busy either arguing on the floor of the Senate, and/or jockeying for their own position/power/wealth so nobody stepped in. I see similarities to today.
Wasn't Caligula killed by his guards?
Yes finally when no one else would step up and remove him.

Over the last five years the average GDP growth of Brazil is -0.8%. During the same time the U.S, without tariffs, was 2.9%. GDP is Brazil is 1.9T, GDP in the U.S. is 20.5T. GDP per capita in Brazil is $9K, GDP per capita in the U.S. is $63k. Inflation in Brazil is 3.7%, inflation in the U.S. is 2.8%. Unemployment in Brazil is 12.5%, in the U.S. it is 4.2%.
So what is the argument here? We can follow the "king of tariffs" and have a shitty economy like Brazil? Thanks, I'd rather keep the good.
Cult members, please note the comparison of the economic data from a tariff heavy country like Brazil and the not tariff heavy U.S.
I think we can dispense with the Democrats versus Republicans crap. That's all just part of the distraction game and driven by pettiness. We are well past that now and have been for a long time. This is a case of good versus evil and it crosses both sides of the aisle. The current Republican party is little more than a shell of what it once was. Most of the ones still in office have sold their soul to the new master. Calling them anything but "complicit" is a waste of words.
Other countries have tariffs on us, but we don't have any on them..
Yes, that is the lie you've been fed. In reality, all countries have tariffs, including the US. And the US's have usually been much higher than other country's.
Even before last week, the weighted average tariffs that the US imposed on China were 3.7 TIMES what China charged. And for the UK is was a mere 2.5 TIMES.
So anyone that tells you that the US didn't charge them, or that they charged less, or that anyone other than the US was being 'unfair' was either grossly misinformed or, in almost every case, lying through their teeth.
Beware of bright orange compulsive liars pretending not to lie to you.
