video-editing software
My video-editing needs are not great. I have the need to trim videos – and mostly nothing more. For many years, I have been using the free MPEG Streamclip for this purpose.
It is an old app, and is no longer supported/updated. It works on my old desktop under Mohave. But I now have a new MacBook Air (latest OS version), and it does not work. I am looking for an alternative. Free is nice, a small price is no problem.
Every time, however, that I download an app from the App Store from its video-editing offers, I get apps that do ”everything” – except the simple task of trimming videos.
Can someone recommend an alternative to MPEG Streamclip for trimming videos?

It's very simple and won't transcode the source content.
I used QuickTime in the past but as Apple has dumbed down that application (as well as many of their other native media tools) over the years I've drifted elsewhere.
Moreover LosslessCut supports more file formats, containers, and codecs than today's heavily crippled QuickTime Player.
