The Apple Account Card may be spreading to more countries than first thought, with another seven countries in Europe earmarked for the financial feature.

The Apple Account Card in Apple Wallet is a facility where users can deposit funds that can be spent on Apple Services and products. While it is available in the United States and a few other countries, it seems like the feature will be expanding into more countries in the future.

According to backend changes spotted by MacRumors, the Apple Account Card will be coming to more regions in Europe:

  • Belgium

  • Denmark

  • Finland

  • Ireland

  • Luxembourg

  • Norway

  • Portugal

While the backend discovery indicates new territories for Apple Account Card to operate, it doesn't reveal when the changes will be implemented. It seems plausible that Apple could time the launch to coincide with its formal release of iOS 26 and its other operating systems in the fall, as well as the iPhone 17 range.

In March, a similar leak revealed that there would be an expansion to:

  • Austria

  • Italy

  • Spain

  • Sweden

  • Switzerland

  • UK

However, despite months passing since that discovery, the feature hasn't been made available in those countries.

An easy expansion

The Apple Account Card differs from the main Apple Card, in that it isn't a credit facility at all. Instead, it is a descendant of the iTunes Pass from 2022, and is used solely to fund Apple product purchases and to pay for Apple services.

Apple Card would require Apple to sign up with credit service providers in each new region, and deal with lots of regulatory interference. Apple Account Card, meanwhile, does not have to deal with as much scrutiny.
