well, the new 30 is still a lot thinner than the old 20, and is in fact only .01 inches thicker than the old "slim" 10

Actually mebibyte is the correct term for 2^20 while megabyte is used for 10^6.

I prefer to use megabyte when talking about 2^20, despite the fact that is technically incorrect.

If you look at frank_t's pictures in this thread you will see a half decent picture where you can compare the differences of the new and old navigation wheel. They look to be about the same size to me.

Chill daddy. I am no expert on testing for battery life, but overall I think the battery life is fine. I have not noticed any difference between my old one, and the new one. I generally use my iPod everyday, and I will have to charge it every other day or every three days. Hope this helps.

Could you also take pictures of the front with the wheel, buttons and screen visible?

Hmm is there a way you can let it run even if you are not useing it to see how long it goes from full change to 0?

I would realy like to know as if it would go as long as the last iPods as that would show that apple found a way to use less power when it's runing off the battery.

    Thanks Retro and bperkins!

I was wondering if the ergonomics of the new wheel and the need to move it "down" farther on the iPod face made it anymore problematic to use.

was just at compusa (sadly no apple store nearby) and they had the 15 gig iPod out and playing....dang that thing is SWEET....surprised i walked out without one....i want to see the 30 gig first to compare, but the 15 is small small small and light ...very nicely done apple....will be getting one sooooonnnnnn.......

scroll and buttons work very nice for me, but then i don't have an old one to compare with....very nice feel, very sturdy...
