Trump's respect, purchased with glass beads and trinkets.  What could be more American than that?

Maybe instead of handing over tribute, shouldn’t Apple be challenging Trump’s authority to levy these tariffs in the first place?
How could Apple possibly do that? The President of the United States has the authority to impose tariffs.
    • Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 to impose restrictions on imports that are found to threaten U.S. national security.
    • Section 201 of the Trade Act of 1974 to impose tariffs to safeguard domestic industries from serious injury caused by import surges.
    • Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 to address unfair foreign trade practices or violations of trade agreements.

AFAIK, the president's authority to impose tariffs is limited to emergencies.

Unless an emergency can be plausibly claimed, the president has no legal power to levy tariffs without Congressional approval.

Right. There’s no emergency and none of the citations listed are applicable to Apple’s imports. They should be challenging these things in court.

Everything is an emergency to the Chicken Littles that believe all brown people are rapists with cantaloupe-seize calves who couldn't have possibly entered the country legally.
