Flying long distance often means staring at a selection of shows and films as you wait for the journey to end. If you're flying on United, that selection has gotten a bit bigger.
United announced on Tuesday that full seasons of select Apple TV+ shows from the streaming service will be viewable on the entertainment system. The shows will be available to view on United's 130,000 seatback screens and through the United app.
The initial swathe of shows will include the entire first seasons of "Severance," "Shrinking," "Ted Lasso," "Slow Horses," and "Silo." Seasons of "The Morning Show" and "Bad Sisters" will be added to the roster in September, with more continuing to be added each month.
"Apple creates groundbreaking original series, and United travelers are going to love watching fan-favorite Apple Originals for free on their next flight," saidMark Muren, United's Managing Director of Product, Identity and Loyalty.
United follows after American Airlines, which has made Apple TV+ shows free to watch during flights since 2020.
This is not the first time United Airlines has worked with Apple, as it has already supplied customer service representatives with iPhones to help with check-ins for a decade. More recently, it became one of the first airlines to officially support shareable AirTag tracking links.
