Like a little phonejack powered bluetooth adaptor? It would use a cell phone to make a call on old macs and laptops.

Never thought about it. Kinda funny.

I think it would be really cool if you could just connect your computer to a phone jack through the modem port and then use the modem like a telephone to call people. You got a built in microphone, and built in speakers... why not? It would be just like dialup internet except you'd be talking with a person rather than an internet connection line thingie (I don't know what it's called, it's been years since I've had to put up with a modem!).

I will never use my internal modem (not that I am saying i want to destroy it in the process either... it just seems like a waste sitting there... a bt adapter would be ideal... especially if they could get it small enough so that it would be flush with the back of the screen on my Ti... although it would be better to have something that I could use on my later machines (which I assume will have BT internally)...

    Paul: point taken.

that said, i believe the modem jack opening is too small to be of much use to anything. USB and Ethernet jacks are both larger than the phone jack. unless you had something that hung outside the machine, but that would sort of defeat the purpose.

i don't think that would quite work... but, at that point, you might as well gte yourself a cheap ethernet card and throw it in the pc card slot

Hell, I would settle for a simple answering machine app. I have looked, but haven't found anything. Since I am trying to learn Cocoa, maybe this could be one of my first apps...
