800MHz G4 iMac (SuperDrive), with 512MB RAM and 60GB hard drive

    - Surf

    - E-mail

    - iChat

    - iTunes

    - Write

    - Draw

    - Design pages

    - Logo/infographic design and illustration

    - Tutorials

    - Banking, bills and keeping my finances straight (Quicken, in other words)

    - Play with icons and desktops

    - Watch the occasional DVD

    - Burn the frequent iTunes mix CD (12 currently in my car)

    - Post at AppleInsder

    - Light iPhoto

    - Download neat - and useful! - shareware apps like SnapzPro X and Art Directors Toolkit

Honestly, my entire life - and everything I love and enjoy and consider "part of my life" is on my Mac: songs, contacts, words, music, art, writing, friends, my window to the world, etc.

The question - at this point - is probably more like "what DON'T I do on my Mac...".

I agree with the others when they say "what don't I do". But this is also a way I shut up windows users who surf/email and complain that the mac has no software. So here it goes...

    professionally

    - audio production including composition, editing, mixing, and mastering

    - video production FCP

    - web production including html, perl, flash, and streaming

    - graphic design

    - photo editing

    - remote admin of macs, windows boxes, and linux (ssh, remote desktop, etc)

    - database development

    personal use

    - writing

    - surfing

    - email

    - games

    - PIM

    - finances banking/portfolio tracking

    - masssive mp3 library for use with iPod

    - family photos/videos

probably forgeting something, but I made a decision a few years back to try to 'digitize' my life, and have been quite successful. i couldn't do everything i do on any other platform

    TiPb 550

    Surfing etc...

    Graphics/Web design

    Photography (Sony F707)

    Music production (Reason 2.5)

Music storage and is currently my HiFi

My poor machine goes with me everywhere and is used pretty much all the time. It suffers not so much paint chips, but CHUNKs. I might buy a 12 inch Pb and use my trusted 15 as a desktop machine.

Anyways check out my new website it is still being worked on, but I'm quite happy with it.

I wonder how long it would be before a 970 based laptop???

I bought my first Mac in '99 to do video editing. And that's mainly what I do, using FCP (started on Premiere, but it's too limited for me).

I also do photoshop to created DVD menus, and DVD Studio Pro for mastering DVDs, Toast for burning 'em.

And of course every manner of general purpose use as well.

    My answer? Everything

Okay, but seriously? I do email, porn archiving, MP3 hording, Chess, web browsing, pre-release movie watching, typing, photoshop jollies, quark evils, and the occasional Sims, Diablo 2 or Aliens vs. Predator. I do other stuff but can't remember it now.

EDIT: Okay, I look up phone numbers, show times, translations etc with Watson/Sherlock and also make iMovies of my family. I also Hotline.

    IMac G3 500 now running 10.2.

I am a light computer user - I haven't signed on to the full digital lifestyle yet.

I use my machine to work at night on Word and PowerPoint documents that I have brought home from my main office (a Windows machine, unfortunately, at the main office). Of course, I surf the web (for news, general interest and a bit of shopping) and send/receive e-mail. I do a fair bit of family photography and enjoy using iPhoto. My kids use the computer to play games and I sometimes do this as well, with them or even with my wife - rarely alone. And I spend a fair bit of time just hacking around and figuring out how the computer works and how to make it work better(I find this oddly relaxing).

I could do all of this, I suppose, on a Windows machine, but, after working on Windows machines for years, I find the Mac easier, more reliable, and simply more pleasurable.
