No, but since we haven't seen any major iBook case redesigns, IBM would have to bump the 750 series to at least 1 GHz (later this year).

The 750CXe => 750FX (Sahara) => 750GX (Gobi) => 750VX (Mojave) rumors do make sense to me. Much more sense than a Dual-970 PowerBook, anyway, MOSR

    At 0.10-0.09µm think

5 stage pipeline, dual core, Rapid I/O, switched fabric core connect, SIMD(VMX)=very fast, low power.

I imagine Apple will call it a G4, since it would run any applications that call for a G4 in the published system requirements.

just like the current PS2's "emotion engine" was unimpressive.

Actuall, considering the speed in which the EE runs, its quite impressive.

The thing is capable of quite a bit.

More impressive than a G4 IMO.

Of course, that is not saying much.

Oh, would Apple really consider going back to a G3 for the iMac.

I know it would work fine from a speed standpoint but what about from a marketing one?

What about the concrete loss of functionality? Whoops, um, iDVD doesn't work any more. So sorry!

iDVD wouldn't work with a G3 with Altivec grafted on it?

Hmmm. Now I'm really spooked. The same creature that kidnapped Programmer has got Amorph too. The REAL Amorph wouldn't make such an elementary mistake...

I ponder... (with stern, lemon pimpled, furrowed brow...) have dark, Wintelion forces penetrated this Mac Loyalist Stronghold..?

Of course we haven't penetrated this stronghold. This stronghold is impregnable. The wintelion infidels will never breach your defenses. Even as I speak, I am reformatting windows XP in favor of linux, thus striking a mortal blow to the evil one.
