os 9 memories... ::snif:: anyone have screenshots of SoundJam MP?
Heh. I had to go find the CD and re-install it into Clasic. This was my favorite MP3 player until iTunes came along. Actually, prior to SoundJam my fav was MacAmp. I even designed a skin for that one. I remember the MacAmp guys putting down SoundJam and vise versa. Here's the default skin of SoundJam. This skin was a take off from Quicktime. At that time the brushed metal look was the coolest thing around.
But, back on topic, forget about the brushed metal stuff...just look at the interface. The best part is that once you learn the metaphor, each application becomes easier to understand.
Yes it is. I would like to know that as well. I don't remember seeing this type of UI prior to iTunes.
iTunes isn't anything like Explorer in Windows. Explorer is actually the entire PC's directory including network drives viewed somewhat like our list view with the exception that Explorer has a column on the left side so can you can scroll up and down.
The left side column in iTunes is customizable, and that is what makes it completely different. In a way it's the perfect finder. If you think about it, it's the ultimate Apple menu!
