This is old news....VERY old news. 150 dollars? You can go out and buy a 20 inch stereo television for 150 bucks....what is the point. Go out to CompUSA spend $40 and get a Hauppage WinTV. Those work perfectly with a 3rd party app.
Forgive my ignorance, but would it be possible to connect a Gamecube using standard composite cabling and play games using a Cinema Display? If so, this is just the solution I'm looking for!
My friend does this with a PS2 on his PC, no reason why it wouldnt work on a Mac, you could also use an RCA stereo to 3.5mm jack (female) from Radioshack to hook up your speakers too.
So far my impression is that it's beta software. It works, but it's glitchy. The channel auto-scan might as well not be there because you have manually fine-tune every channel. The video and audio stutters a little while you're recording (in the recording too), but I think that might be because the 59.22 second clip I recorded was over a GB (I still need to find out how to change the format of recordings). There's a small line of static along the top (looks like maybe 5 of the TV's pixels or so). There's a black line down the right side that's about the same size as the static line, and a black line 2-3 times as thick down the left. Here is a screen shot illustrating the static and black lines.
Oh, hey, the static's gone now. Maybe it's a fine tuning issue.
If there are any questions or anything, let me know.

Ok, it worked alot better when I changed it to MPEG4 instead of whatever the default is. Only about 47MB for a clip of the same length, and not nearly as jerky (I think it only did it once right at the start).
Oh, I remember what else bugged me. As far as I can tell, there's no way to automate recording. Maybe I can do it with AppleScript, but it really should be built-in.
I am curious to see how much CPU this card uses, and how the picture quality is for S-Video. Thanks. Oh yeah, and if it works on multiple monitors... Heh.

CPU usage seems to hover around %30 or so on my dual G4 800. It works just fine with dual monitors (unlike Apple's DVD Player ).

Can you perhaps provide a link for which 3rd party app works with Hauppage WinTV ??
Specifically, what was the straw that broke the camel's back in terms of bugs? What you listed before or other, newer bugs?
The bugs I listed, general glitchyness (the audio cuts out sometimes, and sometimes you have to restart to get it back), and the lack of TIVO-type features contributed to my decision.
I'm thinking about getting ATI's stand-alone tuner card and a new hard drive for my PC. It'll cost about the same, and I'll get that extra drive space out of it. Their are two things I'm worried about, though. First is how well it will record on an Athlon 750. The other thing is that I'm really digging having the TV screen on my Mac. My PC doesn't have a dedicated monitor -- my main mac monitor has dual inputs so I just switch between them when I need to use my PC. I'd really love to be able to use both monitors for my mac while watching TV. Maybe I'll just return it, save the money, and wait for a non-buggy mac solution.
This slightly worries me because I ordered mine last Friday (though as far as I know it hasn't shipped out yet). I'll probably install it and determine then if I can live with the current product. Although I do hope the company plans on releasing occassional maintenance updates, I know this probably won't be the case.

It's at version 1.6.2 now, so they do seem to update it. If time-shifting my favorite shows wasn't one of the main reasons for me getting it, I'd consider keeping it and waiting for the next version.

Is Televio running fullscreen in your screenshot?
Yes. I can take some non-fullscreen screen shots if you want.

I don't have a need for this kinda thing, but it looks like they did a real good job on it. Watch TV in the dock, fancy.
So far I haven't seen how to do this.

Do either of those let schedule recording like ATI's TV Tuner software?
Well the card itself seems nice enough, but the software is way to buggy. This thing's going back.
