That doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of awful avatars there are out there. I usually don't frequent such forums; so, I just don't have any really good examples for you.
uuugggh...I can't believe some Webforums even allow that. I think forums like that are either A) neglected, or B ) run by teenagers.
yeah, I thought the mods/admins temporary avatars were just fine, but still avatars generally look out of place here at AI, if more people had them maybe they wouldn't but overall, they aren't that important.
I would like to be able to change my user title though
I want an avatar in the real world. Oh sheet, sleep dep again. My avatar will be a pair of golden boxers, they will float before me to herald my coming and float behind me to tell o my passing. And when my avatar speaks it shall a voice as sweet as moss on a stone.

Mine would probably be a little whiskey tumbler with wings...and a flame coming off the top of the glass..

Those links are dying, apparently. Anyway, my displeasure with your avatars will also be induced by the fact that they were so horribly out of place as much as by their esthetic quality. I know of other boards where I don't mind the avatars at all, and I am not one to be easily offended, so that helps too.

I take it you haven't seen many other sites with avatars and signature images enabled. Take a look at either of these:

ditto. the 1000 posts threshold seemed fair for editing user title.
some days I'm more Curious Member than others.
some days I'm more Suburb Member than others.
though that might sound like an outsider to the AI community limits,
we know that as an Internet forum, there's no here or there there to demarcate.

You 1000+ posters: contact me via PMs if you would like to change your title.
Or post a new thread titled Custom Title Request in this forum, and I'll take care of it.
