I'm pretty sure this is a fake.

Last time I checked, the star button on a phone had 6 points, not 5.

The Extras menu is not aligned with the menu choices above it.

The dialpad looks strange. The spacing between the buttons is not consistent. Also, the whole dialpad appears to be too far to the right.

    Just my 2 cents...

The key numbers are done in Comic Sans. Come on, we all know it's fake. It's a joke!

I have it on the very best authority that Ives has been working out of late (no, not any of that aerobic, wimpy, pseudo-man cardiovascular stuff). He's added some mass to his formerly pear-shaped, stooped frame (his bench press is up to 350 pounds!). He now looks like he was carved from marble. It seems that he has found glorious inspiration in the primal simplicity of iron! Chicks can't get enough of him.

It can now be revealed that the new iPhone is an olive drab back pack mounted affair that only iron slinging worthies will be able to heft! A Real man slings it over his shoulders, fastens the belt, hefts the fifteen pound headset onto his head and then jogs off in search of the nearest mountain to climb! Ovulating Chicks will mysteriously zero in on iPhone wielding Men without knowing why, subconsciously desperate and yearning to partake of their DNA.

Gotta go, the Gym is singing her clanking, sirenesque song!

(Actually just sitting back in the Mac World Pre-Glow and calmly watching the barely rippling Lake Rumors with a smile. Benevolence to you all....)

Hilarious. And slightly erotic (homoerotic?), your description of Mr. Ives. Too bad he's not interested in chicks.

I'd like to see that, though. The heavy steel enclosures. It could be a post-modern thing. It would clearly be efficient to work out and use my Mac/iPod/iPhone at the same time.

His interest in chicks is irrelevent. Chicks will dig anyone who is man enough to heft a backpack iPhone.

Erotic?! Egad and Whoa-there! Throttle back, throttle back! Didn't mean to get anyone wound up!

Just watchin' the ripples on Lake Rumors, heeyah... nothin' mowah!

Yeah, this buddy of mine who works for Apple PR was hanging out with me yesterday, and we were smokin' weed, and drinking the malt, and shootin' a little smack, and pretty soon he was spillin' the beans about Apple's new iPhone, to be released at Macworld. By the time he'd finished snorting all my PCP, he gave me the password to Apple's Secret Future Product Photo FTP Site, and i got this picture of the iPhone! It's real, if you guys think i'm lying, you'll all be proved wrong at Macworld!

iT'S gotta be a fake, apple is invoative, their design state of the art, this isn't, it does't say to me "oooohhhh aaaahhhh, way cool" it should be smaller, larger color screen better ergonomics. Just ask yourself 1 question......DOES IT SET A NEW STANDARD AHEAD OF THE CURVE. don't waste my time. my 8200 nokia is better designed.

some proportional math a true apple iphone should be

a new iphone: t68i as imac: typical desktop

I also thought profit margin on cellphones are small, i would think to keep costs down, apple would join with someone. the t68i has it all, so why not add more like it with sony, rather than this thing

LOL. After reading the continued responses to this thread, i'm thinking of opening a booth at some suburban mall with a big sign "HEY! FAKE, IMITATION, NOT REAL, PLASTIC ROLEXES, ONLY $6,000 EACH!"

I'm sure plenty of people will come up, hand me $6,000 and say "Huh.. i wonder if these Rolexes are really real.. say, doesn't that kinda look like plastic to you?"

looks cool to me too bad it's prob fake.

i wonder instead of questioning the validity of this mock up, maybe asking how many of you would buy it if it were announced in this form on the 7th would be interesting.

    let's say:

    $350, ?352, £195 range

    BT, rendezvouz, 20gig MP3/AAC/OGG playback

    triband GSM, GPRS, modem.

messages sent to your ichat account got relayed through to the (i)phone when you were 'away'.

at the rear of the (i)phone, a camera sits.

interfaces directly with ichat for video and voice conferencing.

oh fcuk it, lets throw in TIVO functionality as well while were at it

me, yeah sure if it worked in europe.
