    Exactly.

I think people really underestimate the amount of work we put into keeping this place running. It's a serious job. However, we can really only have so many people on the staff before jobs become redundant or conflicts over specific moderation issues arise.

This reminds or Joseph Heller's book Catch 22.

    If I may paraphrase:

You'd have to be crazy to want to be a mod.

But asking to be a mod shows your not crazy.

Thus, your very sanity in asking disqualifies you...

    or so it goes... \

It makes more sense as: You'd have to be crazy not to want to be a mod, but being a mod drives you insane anyway.

Honestly Admins and Mods, how many times and for how long are you here per day?

A few times for a couple hours?

Several times for a few hours?

Most of the time for several hours?

    Sleep? What's that?

I'm talkin' 'bout numbers here folks. How much of your usable day is spent keeping us hooligans in line?

A secret look into the daily life of a mod...

Well, I can comment for a few of the other mods I talk to on a regular basis, but usually, it goes something like this. Most of us are on iChat, and most of us work during the day. So when we get a free moment, we'll hit AI, go through the forums we mod, take care of anything there, then read the other forums, because just like you folks, we read for fun as well.

If I see something one of murbot's forums that needs some attention, I'll send him a message on iChat. Usually it's taken care of pretty quickly.

For something that needs immediate attention, I'll drop Jonathan or Brad a message on iChat, or if it's really bad, call one of them up, and it's taken care of immediately.

It's not like we log in, put in our two hours or whatever and then log out. We visit just as often as most of you guys do, but when we do, we sometimes stick around a little longer to clean up threads, or make fun of you guys in the mod forum

So it's tough to answer your question...
