You probably have an uncapped modem which can reach speeds of 6Mbps on close servers. Also some servers are closer ar use large bandwidth internet connections which boost speed. I can download at around 450K from MP3.com on a good day.
BTW, I got the upload/download speeds reversed but I think you understand what I tried to say.
8 Bits to a Byte. That means you get around 187K up/32K down. 100MB file will take about 8.9 minutes to download and 52 minutes to upload at your Max speed.
Thanks for the info. For some reason I can't wrap by addled noodle around this one. I guess I'm always just hoping for 1.5 MBps downloads. Or is it Mbps?
