Speaking of cool mockups from the old days (in which I was even more of a lurker than I am now), here's a vague memory that no one's going to remember, but I'll try anyway: I remember right before Appleinsider's longest blackout, there was a REALLY cool sketch posted -- not even CG but a scanned pen sketch of a case design. It wasn't an all-in-one or anything, but a more sort of automobile- / furniture- / locomotive- styled thing with these four sharp feet that looped around once before they plunged down to the table. It was gorgeous and RIGHT before the blackout, someone else had said that they'd try to do a 3D CG version. I was so looking forward to seeing that. I don't suppose that anyone knows what I'm talking about, or if the guy who did that still frequents this board and can post it again?
Excellent choice of music - BT's such a machead himself! Apple's PR must love him for their promo videos:
"What's going on?!......You have to be joking me! OH MY GOD! Wait, and it's auto-sensing when you turn the lights down? When do you guys stop thinking of cool stuff?!"
(can you add some auto sensing to it the tablet, just for BT?)
The apple logo part is a bit too 'bubble' imo, and you may want to add an 'ink well' to put the stylus into. Also, speaker? Or is that through the bubble logo? Also; connectivity? An open bay or hatch?
Not to detract from the beautiful animation, but one comment I have to make is that it doesn't solve the problem with tablets. How you get a keyboard to work with it easily?
Although, I can see that's not really what's important. What's important is the kick-ass ad!

As for the design, I can't say it fits my fancy. Apple now has a more hard edges/chrome look to its products. What if it were to have a less curves around the outside and chrome backing a la ipod?
Remember, Steve doesn't like bezel around the outside.
I'd also like to see a place for the stylus to go (which does look awesome, I like how it has some heft to it, which is my main problem with most styluses.

Excellent work! If I hadn't known better I'd have sworn it was an Apple commercial! Just amazing. Have you played with the idea any further? For example, the base station shown could be an Airport base, with a set of ports on it as well, for Firewire, USB, etc. Maybe showing it dropping down into the base with speakers and keyboard/mouse handy in addition to the pen.
Whatever you do with, from the look of this commercial, I'd buy one!
