Here's an excerpt from a review of the Apple Cinema 20" from Mac Design.
Quote:
The best news is that the display is optimized to work with OS X 10.2 Jaguar and all you need do to create a very accurate monitor profile is to open Displays in the System Preferences panel. Under the Display tab, set colors to millions and choose the display's native resolution of 1680x1050. Move the brightness slider to 50%, then choose the Color tab, press calibrate, and select the Expert mode. Use 2.2 as your target gamma and check the uncorrected gamma box. I used 6500° as my target white point and checked the no-white point correction box. Finally name your profile, press calibrate, and your profile is saved. Using several profiled papers, I made impressive matched prints to the display.
I bought a 17" studio display back in Feb. and I want to tell you I'll never go back to a CRT.
I've never been so satisfied with a monitor. Looks great and lower power consumption to boot.
Look at it this way : They finally got rid of the last tube in the TV.
Maybe they still use CRT's for specialized work but I predict that in 10 years you'll be hard pressed to find one with new computers ( make that TV's also ).

No one knows of a current web review comparing CRT's vs Flats for critical color? Please post link.

Professional level.
Not just a few prints that matched.
Is anyone doing this type of work using flats?
