Someone please tell me there is a workable .net port for Mac now or sometime soon. Please!!! If not, darn you Microsoft!!!
.net is in effect just the latest class library for Windows. It is not cross platform. It never will be cross platform. There have always been a lot of jobs in Windows specific programming (VB, VC++, MFC and so on) but this doesn't stop you owning a Mac if you want to.
If you want to program in .net then get a windows PC (if you haven't already got one ...?...), if you want a Mac get one.
If you get a PC makes sure you put dual boot Linux on though.
