Well, I dunno, Russ - Israeli soldiers casually gunning down schoolchildren in the street... worthy of a few column inches, wouldn't you say?
And did this supposededly pro-Israel media report in the Israeli casualties during the cease-fire? None of the various incidents warranted front page coverage, I guess, since they weren't sensational enough.
Lack of coverage doesn't always mean bias. With US media, it simply can mean lack of wow-factor.
Gee, maybe they're "pro-Israel" because the Palestinian weapon of choice is bombing women and children...on purpose. Hmmmm. Pardon me if I don't get all weepy over accidental civilian deaths when Israel responds.
Now someone explain to me why one person will point out that Israel is killing civilians, and apparently forget completely that Palestinians are killing civilians too, then someone else will point out that Palestinians are killing civilians and forget completely that Israeli soldiers are killing civilians too?
Who is more biased: the media or the readers? Or perhaps the question is: are these readers as mindless and gullible as they makes themselves out to be?
I can't say much about the media, it might be a little biased towards Isreal but there are some factors to be considered. Isreal's location itself is in a very hostile environment. From day one when Isreal was formed I think way back in 1948 (I might have got the year wrong), the Arabs have been hostile towards Isreal. Isreal was supposed to be haven for the Jews, Isreal is surrounded by Arab countries and was/will be under threat of attack from any of the Arab countries. Isreal requires US support for nothing more than just existence, which is not asking for too much. I think the Jews have suffered a lot in History and now deserve a break. I am not biased on this topic,I am not even Jewish, infact I am a Hindu.

For me it's the hypocracy of Israel complaining when their civilians are killed, but doing the same in return. Shut your mouth (not you, Israel) if you don't want equality.
One more thing, about the bias. How many Arabs or Mulims have you seen who are pro-Isreal. I have met people from Pakistan, Bangladesh countries which do not even share borders or have any direct dispute with Isreal, having a complete bias against Isreal, thats all in the name of religion. Is the Arab news media unbiased, so it's only fair. Killing of any human is wrong be Muslim or Jew.
