    IMO, Apple tipped its hand with the name XServe.



    Consider: XServe, Airport "X"treme, OS "X" - the "X" is taking root all over the product line like the "i" did with the iMac.



    The 970 based towers will be "eXtremeMacs" or just "XMacs". I can already see the advertising tie-in: Get an XMac for XMas!

    No, they can't be called XMacs. That sounds too much like Exlax so marketing will want to stay away from it.

    I'm telling you... It will be called the Apple "Xstation".



    As in high-end OS X/Unix-based "workstation".



    Similar to the nomenclature used for the Xserve. I doubt that Apple will go with something corny.

    To call the new mac's something like Powermac G5 would be sooooo boring!!!!!!



    Think along the lines of what they did to us with Safari. Completely out of the blue that one. But what a perfect name!!!



    BTW no way will it have an "i" in front of a Pro mac.
