I wish everyone would switch to Yahoo Instant Messenger or something else.
Except that YIM on Windows uses a Windows-specific audio system for the voice chat. Meaning you'll never get Mac-Windows voice chat, unless Yahoo changes audio systems!
Oh, and the Mac version doesn't support YIM's chat rooms.
How would iChat AV work with iSight if one was using a 1 gig FP iMac with 1 gig of RAM and (kill me now) dial-up service rather than broadband? Obviously there would be no smooth-flowing video, but it would still be cool to see the person on the other end in still or slow-moving shots. Is that what one would see?

I think both ends have to be broadband for video to work at all with iChat. I think the only thing you can do when one end is on dial-up is audio. I could be wrong, but I think that's how it works.
