Uhh, all I got from the link was child porn.
Really? I've refreshed it dozens of times and I haven't been able to get that.

Downgraded to Cat 2... that's a huge difference from what it was a few days ago. Count yourselves lucky. Personally I hope it destroys the ex-boss' beach house and leaves everyone else's perfectly intact. The lying, scheming sack of shite.
You got fired not long ago, right?
I have wishes like that, too. When a hurricane swoops up from the tropics, a little part of me wishes it would wipe out a certain speaker company in Miramar, FL. That's so wrong, but that little part [in me] can be pretty vocal sometimes.

I cropped and resized that a little, and it does make a beautiful desktop.

I must reiterate though: just be glad Isabel might only be a bitch and not a Mitch. Note the stats at the bottom right of the image. Almost incomprehensible for a storm of that scale. Had IT slammed into Florida instead of say Andrew, or into South Carolina instead of Hugo, we would've had a lot more death and destruction even though it doesn't seem possible.
i read this morning in the paper that many people are staying put because of it's declassification to a two. which in fact may have made it that much more dangerous.
"Hey Bob, the winds are only 100 MPH now... so that splinter of 2x4 will only impale you and not go right through you when you're walking around outside looking at the pretty storm!"
Just remember: their vote counts as much as ours. Definitely an indication of a flawed political system. Last night I was watching a hurricane special on NGC. One of the ladies interviewed was one of these brilliant people who went back INTO Andrew's path after a vacation, while everyone else LEFT. She said things like "Oh gosh, look how strong the winds are getting; I wonder why there are no animals to be seen outside...."
With my Modified Stableford Voting System ?, her vote would count once, ours would count twice, and those living in Ivory Towers... their vote would count 1/2.
Personally I hope it destroys the ex-boss' beach house and leaves everyone else's perfectly intact. The lying, scheming sack of shite.
But that story has a happy ending for your boss. FEMA will be happy to give him your tax dollars so that he can rebuild his house in time for next year's hurricane season. And if it should happened to be destroyed again, we can rebuild it again.
But I see your point. Hmm... what a bout a flood-induced sink-hole? Hard to rebuild a house on a back-filled sink-hole. He'd have to go inland because all the beach property is long gone.

Just remember: it's OK to be a vindictive fuk, so long as the recipient of your venom is supremely deserving.
In my case, it's a completely irrational thought. So of course the recipient is "supremely deserving"!
So far at around 2:45 PM here in Philly...some wind gusts but no rainfall or HIGH winds yet...and I have to work tonight...
Mitch was over five years ago and hit Honduras unfortunately -- a country even less able to cope with such a storm than us (the floods and mudslides killed many people) -- and in general the 70's, 80's and much of the 90's were a big lull for huge, Cat 5 type storms. Andrew came close admittedly, but this is one storm over three decades. Even the NG people noted this in their documentary.
I wonder how competitive it is for people with meteorology degrees to get a job at the NHC. I wonder if all the NHC rejects become netwok weather men and women.
