Damn right Overhope. A waitress liked mine, it struck up a nice conversation.
Ummm are you SURE the CASE is WARPED? (And not you?) Just kidding..But seriously. Have you checked that all the "feet" are there? These are the 4 little rubber pads on the corners of the bottom. I highly doubt your freakin case is warping. Check the feet first. Those all fell off on mine and I sort of cared but then I realized it made the PB even skinnier so oh well.
This thing is a tank. Survived a near car crash. Flew forward while on. You must either be treating it wrong (the horror! but it happens. My friend is insanely mean to his Mac) or it's a lemon, which although rare on Apples does happen. Good luck.

Who is the "Ummm" directed at? As for myself, all pads are attached and accounted for. My case is warped; so warped that the plastic rim/edge/whatever it's called, is bent as well, likely due to the warping. I think that's why Apple support was so willing to replacing the case.
And, yeah we're making this up . . . we're all too stupid to notice a lack of rubber pads. Dude, warping is a "real" problem for some 12" owners, even if you have not experienced it . Have you heard of "statistics"? First rule: the experience of one (or a similar "smaller" group) often is statistically insignificant. Moral of this story: you should not take your experience (or lack thereof) so seriously: things may happen even if you haven't experienced them first hand.
Anyway, thanks to everyone else for the thoughtful responses. I've decided to go with the 12" rev B with Superdrive (you've assuaged my fears with another statistically insignificant sample). And, while I think this machine will be fine once the case and screen are replaced, I want the DVI and VGA capabilities. And, after dragging the current 12" around today, I realized that the 15" will likely be too big . . . I need the portability.
There were two on the old one though. Hey I'm not saying you're stupid, I just am getting REAL sick of how ridiculous some people. I think Apple people are weirder then normal about this. They bitch and moan and at great cost to Apple return and get a replace for a 12" PB because it's too "hot." Are you f'ing kidding me? They are all hot! It's a frickin subnote crammed with more stuff then most other laptops out there! And then these guys suing Apple about hard drives not being as big as advertised. Please. it's in the fine print which is clear to read on Apple's site. Sometimes there are lemon lines though. Some iBook models had lots of duds. The 15 gig iPods are having problems too. But I haven't seen any of these weird problems on mine. I heard some people's trackpad button was weird. Mine is fine. Except for those feet. I guess Apple was trying to save 3¢ on glue... Good luck with the replacement, I wasn't mad at you personally, just venting. My bad.
The "2" key came off my 12" PowerBook's keyboard, but went back on again. That's about it in the last five months.
I don't find the heat to be a problem, and prefer the term "pleasantly toasty warm". If it was released in the middle of winter, not as many people would complain.
Edit: brief moment of worrying about not having USB 2, then remembered that my USB devices are a webcam, mouse and a flash memory stick.
With mine and the experience of others, I'm beginning to think the first thing I should do when I get my new PowerBook (before wiping the disk and reinstalling, before draining the battery, even before registering) is rip those damn rubber feet off and re-attach them with superglue.
This has become a twice-yearly chore with my Pismo.
Sounds about right!! I would've done that if I'd known what would happen. By the time I realized what was going on 3 were gone to who knows where, so I just ripped off the 4th one. Oh well.
...the first thing I should do when I get my new PowerBook (before wiping the disk and reinstalling, before draining the battery, even before registering)...
Why do you do all this machem?
Conditioning I spose but what exactly are the effects?

The cases certainly do "warp" somewhat. There are several threads regarding this at the Apple discussion boards.
My 12" PowerBook seemed warped to me, as on some surfaces I could press the lower right hand corner down and have the whole thing move a fair amount. It was annoying, as every time my right palm hit the palm rest to begin typing, it would rock down a bit. I read the suggestions of bending it a bit the opposite way, but was way too chicken to try that. A few Post-It Notes under one corner took care of it.
Anyway, after noticing this thread again today I realized that my PowerBook no longer does this. I turned it every which way on my desk and I can't get it to wobble at all. Maybe after several heating/cooling cycles, and the case expanding/shrinking, it has worked itself flat?
Not sure exactly what's up, but it was definitely NOT flat a few weeks ago, and it is now.
Well, I dropped mine off at an Apple store to have the case repaired and the screen replaced. Apple support mailed it back to the store with a new LCD, but forgot to repair the case. It had to be resent, and I'm still waiting for the machine . . .
My footlong is holding up perfectly. The only issue I have had with it is the fact that I dropped it from about 4 feet (while on with the screen open), smashing the left front corner in pretty well. Works perfectly still - this thing is a tank (used daily)!
I've had mine since Friday morning, and it's given me nothing but joy. I haven't had any problems at all... except installing Britannica, but I think that's a bad disk, since I've used the CD drive for other things.

The case pooched out a little at the button for the latch. Happned almost out of the box.
Feet fell off. I now have a nice tripod action going on with some stick on feet.
That's about it.
From this image you can see that there are two USB ports on the new one. It's in the tech spec's too for those that care to check

The only problems I have had are the feet which I have superglued and that I keep burning the food I cook on the included hotplate/palmrest combo.
This has become a twice-yearly chore with my Pismo.

I love it.
