I can't stand that crucial advertising. Send me an email when it's not in AI anymore so I know when to be back. It kills Safari, and I hate to have 20 popups when they are disabled.

We are trying to keep everyone happy. However, I'm still having a problem understand what remains as an issue. I'm running safari on Mac OS X 10.2.8. (it worked under 10.2.6) and I've never crashed on these forums. Additionally, even with pop-up ads allowed, one ad shows up once a day. That's it.
As far as the Crucial RAM ad goes, it is one of the most harmless in the rotation. In fact, it is non-intrusive, it is not animated, it doesn't flash... it's just a standard image.
Honestly... we can shut all the ads off but the forums would have a lifespan of about 2 months thereafter. We ask nothing of our readers, but the ads pay for the forums to remain. Additionally, I feel your pain and am 100% willing to work with you guys on the issues, as I feel I've proven this week.
Having said this, you have to provide a little more detail in your posts so that we can correct the issues ASAP. I do not think the Crucial ad crashed your browser.
Is anyone else (who has cookies and javascript on) still having issues? If so, please let us know here or @ general@appleinsider.com.

This problem is fixed as far as I am concerned.
About the presence of ads in general, whether the banner or pop-ups: I don't mind them if they keep this forum alive. The only problem was the out-of-control pop-ups that happened for a few days last week. Thanks for fixing this.

For me, the Crucial ad is a problem (happened 5 minutes ago). It basically turns the whole page that follows it into a link to its site. I run Omniweb 4.5 btw.
If you click on anything on a page with that ad on, you end up going to crucial's site. That's even if you click in a reply textarea or on a Submit button.
What you expected to happen still happens, but a new window with Crucial's site in it opens. That's even with popups blocked "except for a link being clicked".
Ok... not that it matters but when we had that popup problem with IE, I took this screen shot. I never got a chance to post it but here it is, if you care.

Could you get rid of the McDonald's flash ad too, the page won't load after the ad comes up. Thanks!
Already done... unfortunately, they add these campaigns daily. As soon as we notice them, we ax them. Right now, there is no other way to go about it.

Casino on net is still there. It's on the bottom of this page as I'm typing this reply.

Yeah -- I have no control of that, m does. He said he removed it. All I can do is ask again, unfortunately.
Sorry guys.

grrrr
I just came here with pop up blocking off, because I was visiting some car dealer sites that needed them on.
First pop up I see when I get back? This terrible, terrible thing:
I'm rethinking my blocking habits.
This was after about 3 min serfing AI...
Thanks to the people who fixed this problem!
