Your kidding, right? "Omnipresent drag"!? That is the funniest thing I've heard all day. And all the wireless mice I've tried feel laggy.
The Logitech cordless optical mouse is pretty good. I usually hate cordless "mouses" (argh!) as well, but I really like this one a lot. The only time it gets "laggy" is when the batteries are running out, and that's a good indicator to change them.
I got a Logitech Dual Optical while ago. It was fine for a while, but the pads started falling off. Then, recently, it started jumping around a lot and I noticed the light was off some of the time. They do have a 5-year warranty, but I just got a MX Duo (~$50 with a bunch of other stuff, would have been less if I hadn't misplaced a UPC for a rebate). The MX700 is a great mouse; the back and forward buttons are really convenient.
Note: The MX700 and MX500 are identical except (1) the 700 is wireless and (2) the 500 has a removable weight if the mouse is too heavy for you.

I obviously mean for games like Urban Terror, Quake Series and fps in general where precision is a must
