For those who like to whine...
...well, I don't "salute you", but I would like to hit you over the head with some info.
Here's what Apple has managed to do in less than 10 months (puts it into perspective a bit, doesn't it?).
It should.
Personally, I'm THRILLED beyond words to throw my hat in with a company like this. Spec whores be damned...
Let's review, shall we?

September
New iPods (20 and 40GB)
New iMacs
Updated 12" and 17" PowerBooks
New 15" PowerBook
Wireless keyboard and mouse
Bear in mind that I've not even mentioned the various partnerships formed, the financial results, the awards, the programs, the smaller software offerings/updates, the .mac enhancements, the new retail openings (of which there were quite a few...with more coming!), the development of Panther, the abundance of Apple gear regularly highlighted in movies, TV, music videos, etc.
There are 3 months left in 2003 and in that time we'll see OS X 10.3 (Panther), probably updated iBooks (1GHz I'm guessing) and possibly the unveiling of iTunes and the music store for Windows. And perhaps even an updated display line.
I'm sorry, but if you can honestly look at 2003 and think "eh...so?", you need your pulse checked. Never been a better time to be a Mac user and Apple supporter, IMO.

Paul, you fanboi.
Can anyone recount any Gateway or Dell month-by-month releases/developments? Even if they're a Gateway or Dell user? Think they even register or care?
I thought so.
Just get tired of some of the sillier "gloom and doom" stuff by some, so I figured I'd counter it a bit.
Yeah, a couple of slow months. But I think they've more than made up for it...
that says nothing about the quality of the stuff released.
you can release a ton of shit or you can release awesome products.
many of those announcement and releases and updates were underwhelming.
What, exactly, in that list is a piece "of shit"? Certainly not "a ton" of it.
Yeah, it's "a lot of stuff". And I consider the bulk of it worthwhile and kick-ass. Even stuff like the Xserve and whatnot (things I'll never use) mean something to someone and have their place. I'd say, on balance, that's a pretty amazing year by anyone's standards.
Of all people...
Go study or hit the batting cages.

and as far as design, i think the white opaque plastic is boring as hell
apple is far too conservative in design now and beyond design (at both software and hardware levels) what is there?

That was actually directed at Leonis
But it's all in good, friendly fun. He's not really.
