IMO, Apple is pretty much firing on all cylinders at this time. The sole exception, sadly, would be the marketing/adverstising end of it.
If that were to come along and be beefed up and be worthy of the company and products it touts, then I'd have to give them massive kudos.
I would LOVE to see that one area improved on.
Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the rest. A nice little side benefit of having REASONABLE (some say low) expectations and requirements for what I want and what I do.
Man, looks like I'm gonna have to add to my thread-staring list above, huh?
Just going by the AppleInsider front page and ThinkSecret (two of the more reliable, reasonable and "non-MOSR" rumor sites going), looks like we're about to get hit with:
new eMacs and iBooks
G5 xserves
iTunes for Windows
possible new iPod peripherals
Panther is now officially slated for release
New displays in the works
I STILL say: what an amazing, KICK-ASS year for Apple!!!
The best part is that Applenut has no clue in hell what it takes to develop a polished and refined consumer tech product. Even something farily simple takes a couple really smart guys a few months. The guys at Apple have been working hard.

What do you mean "cylinders?" Apple is spinning all of its rotors.
I agree with pscates here. Apple is selling some outstanding product.
I don't think that there is any doubt that it has a better OS than any other PC OS out there. Also, in hardware the G5 represents a huge development that, I think, will keep Apple equal with or ahead of others as the G5 continues to develop. While I agree that its consumer PCs could use a better price/speed ratio, I think that they are already fast enough for most consumers and that they are equal or ahead of others in quality, design and overall computer expereince.
I am still waiting, however, to see if any of this will translate into substantially greater market share.

So what does that say for the rest of the tech industry?

That's why I put the
iBooks -OK
FCP -Good (it's cheaper)
PowerMacs -Not great
PowerMac G5-Yes!
NewPBs-Yes!
Safari-iLike it
and more...
Applenut, why do you moderate here if you don't like Apple?
RE-TAHded. Especially by past years' standards.
2003 OWN3D, beyotches! Now apologize or Paul will have you standing tall before the man!
...2003 will be a tough act to follow... you snivelling monkies.

and as far as design, i think the white opaque plastic is boring as hell
apple is far too conservative in design now and beyond design (at both software and hardware levels) what is there?
