Just for statistics' sake (not to condone anything), you should have included the option: I will steal it. All relatively anonymous and stuff. I guess there'd be some surprise as to how much hits that gets on this holier-than-thou board. (MO)

I will as soon as it is released. I hear estimates of up to 60% increase in speed. (I'm sure it's not that on everything). But that will be a switch as the last time I upgraded my personal OS was from Win 95 to Windows 98, and I had to double the memory and the HD and upgrade just about everything. (I also have done countless upgrades and service calls after upgrades, requireing more of something.)
Oh wait, I forgot I went from 10.1 to 10.2 and I got a good speed bump.
Anyway that's why I will be upgrading. A simple speed bump.
I looked carefully at the .Mac renewal terms when deciding which bonus to take. In the fine print it says that the $20 coupon can't be used in conjunction with any Education pricing. Too bad, we were gonna use the coupon plus my wife's educational discount for Panther.
Regardless, we'll still buy it (edu of course). 2 features make it worth every penny - Exposé and fast user switching. I can't tell you how many times I've been doing some work and needed to see the desktop, only to think of how much easier it will be with Panther! And even though we have 2 machines (QuickSilver for me, iBook for the wife), we still find ourselves needing to use the other's machine for something -- if my wife wants to burn a CD/DVD, or if I want to use a computer in the living room / back porch / wherever other than my desk. Fast user switching will be a godsend.
Everything else is pretty much icing on the cake. What are other people's killer features making you want to spend the money (other than the overall coolness of Panther)?
I'm not ! Why pay all that money! I am gonna build my own version of panther in the garage, outta spare bits of code I have laying around. Just as soon as I finish my new powerbook made outta beer cans
Now let's see where did I put the jar of homemade liquid crystals?
I might not buy it now... I did say yes before but now that I killed my iMac (well the CRT part) I have no need for panther. I might pick up an iBook soon, so maybe panther is in my general direction.

You mean the free promo? It ended in March of this year.... and that was a first for them since 8.
