Best of all: it does the encoding to mpeg-1 for you, and so when you're done recording, you don't have to spend any time encoding.

MPG 1 is not acceptable. Why they don't use MPEG4 is beyond me but MPG2 in SVCD format would be nice, small, and work on DVD players. All DVD players that are good can play MPG1 and 2. It would be nice if they add MPG4 / Divx 5 support to DVD Players sometimes.
A "data" CD will work fine as long as you have a VDEO_TS folder.
90 minutes as a limitation is unacceptable. Many movies are over twice as long and look PERFECT when compressed with DVD2OneX. Why would anyone use this app when it has such a retarded limitation? That is like iTunes forcing you have CDs with 74 minutes or less. Did you know meritline.com is coming out with 90 and 100 minute CD-Rs!

Because this is not an app designed for people ripping DVDs or capturing television shows. It's an app for people turning home movies into DVD.

mpg4/divx support on stand-alone dvd players: there ARE some products on the market yet, which do exactly this! it#s adanish company... hmm, forgot the name, about 400?...- \
why do dvd2one "compressed" movie look so perfect? quite easy: dvd2one DOESN'T compress them! commercial dvds are compressed with state-of-the-art tools, variable bit rate is the magic word. what dvd2one does, is to "recalculate" this datas - that's why it is so fast! a real re-compression would need hours (or days, on my lil' Cube), even on a very fast machine! - and, of course, it does "throw away" all that extras & addons, which fill the 9pointsomething Gig of a commercial dvd, like documentarys, subtitels, camera-angles, easter-egs.. etc.
dvdv2one is a masterpiece of concept & programming, but you can't compare it with iDVD or toast6... totally different.
and, as mentioned above: iDVD is for the homebrewed video, not for ripping! ? you like it pro? buy dvd pro?-
No DVD2OneX DOES compress and it looks DAMN GOOD. I know what you mean, I get rid of menus and yes sometimes that is the extra space but there are many movies like Lord of the Rings that are massive and definitely bigger then 4.4 gigs by themselves. iDVD needs to uncap the 90 minute mark. It's just that simple.

if you need more than 90 mins then i suggest you buy DVD studio pro. it gives you a lot more options in all aspects of DVD creation. well worth the price.
