I like the new iMushroom-desk-lamp-iMac.

I will however, wait for round 2, the second wave of the new iMac release.

I can't help but, to think that, this new model will be getting faster in a few months time. Even this "top of the line model" will be outdated soon.(if not already)....joe

I might have a chance of getting one but it might take a couple of months.... my mom's starting a new job and she'll be making a lot more money so I told her that she could get me the imac and I'll sell my iBook and give her that money. She really doesn't mind that, noe it's just to us convinving my dad to let me sell the iBook (which he doesn't want me to do because he said I bought this computer and I'm sticking with it and that if I didn't want an iBook I shouldn't have gotten it).

I really like the value of the new iMac, however I need a portable, and I can't afford both :-(

I migth sell my G4 400 and get a later rev, but I haven't really decided. ...Superdrive... maybe I don't *need* it, but it's still SO cool.

Maybe but somebody has to buy the rev. a machines or else there won't be a rev. b

I really really REALLY hope enough people are stu... I mean can´t wait any longer to get a new machine.

But I got burned once with the Cube. Back then I was also waiting for the rev. b but as we know we never got that one. But for some reason I don´t think it will happen for this beauty.

Well I must have been a test pilot in my former life because I bought the iMac 800 yesterday. I'll road test it for you.

I understand what you're saying and that's a shame. I hope you end up getting one.

I'm not getting one until I see what the new PowerMacs are going to be like. I need to see the entire, re-vamped, Apple desktop line-up before deciding how to spend my next-three-year's computer money.

If I did end up buying an iMac, I'd get the one with the super drive. I don't think I'll be getting a digital camcorder any time soon, but I do like the DVD burning for backups. Right now I've got 30 to 40 CDRWs for my backups. Does the super drive do DVD-RW? Does DVD-RW (or whatever is the right term) even exist?

Since Apple did away with colors, why can't they have 2 versions of the new iMac?

Picture this: A black base, black LCD, and a brass arm instead of chrome. Tell me that wouldn't look cool!

What I really want is a $999 tower, but it ain't gonna happen no matter how that would help increase market share. But if they made a black iMac like I described I'd buy the $1299 model.............

The superdrive only does DVD-R. I still bought the new iMac Superdrive model though and it comes with 2 free DVD-R disks.

Are you sure about that? Because I thought that they could do it, Apple just doesn't advertise it.

Maybe you are right, didnt think about Apple not advertising it. Why wouldnt they though?
