Beige G3s are not supported under Panther although it's possible they'll work with a hack - the guys who made XPostFacto are working on making Beige G3s and Wallstreets work in 10.3.
The system requirements might be misleading - they say "built in" USB, not USB from a PCI card. However, USB isn't actually necessary to run Panther, it's just that Macs with built in USB share a number of characteristics that make them able to boot 10.3 and others unable to. I think it has something to do with the ROM (NewWorld vs. OldWorld).
Because the Beige G3's don't have USB, they are not supported by Panther. Note: lacking USB is not the source of the incompatibility, only an easy way to describe it.
That's clear. But I speculated on a difference between "supported" and "incompatible" (like the 10.2 and pre G3s, Processor Upgrades etc.).
By the way, that is the "AppleGossamerPE.kext" for?
