I never used to floss, but brushed twice a day usually. This worked well for the last 27 years, and then it finally caught up with me.

I just came back from my second session of root planing. Basically it's the same scraping the dentist normally does, but down to the root. Novacaine is essential and bleeding and pain are unavoidable. I've never had a problem with going to the dentist, and this procedure didn't even really bother me. In fact they did it in two parts so I could at least use half of my mouth to eat.

But all the friggen cleaning I have to do now is a pain in the ass. Cleaning my teeth and gums now requires 5 friggen steps and around 20 minutes...twice a day. And it's going to be that way for a while. Why oh why didn't I floss. Then I could have avoided all of this stupidity.
