    Design like beauty is subjective, so everyone's opinion of what ugly is is automatically valid (i.e. saying applenut is ugly is irrefutibly valid). However, here's no arguing against form and function. While this hiCam thing can definitely use some refinement on the function side, my main reason for linking to it here was for its size. I don't care how pretty or functional the next "groundbreaking" portable cunsumer electronics device to come from Sony or Apple or whoever is. It's of no use to me if I'm not inclined to carry the damn thing around with me. Remember the Newton ...

    all the other designs by that guy suck. all the designs I have seen from other japanese "artists" suck too. Have a problem with that? What do I care.

    what did you draw the thing or something.

    If you guys really think all Japanese art sucks you are either culturally deprived or more ignorant than I thought.

    Was this ever confirmed? I don't see Steve's name in the CES site. You would think that his name would be with the other keynote speakers.

    NO IT IS NOT TRUE!!!

    Too bad, would have been nice.

    A website (I forget where--so sue me) called up CES and they confirmed that Steve would not be keynoteing. But with all the hype generated from just a rumor, maybe it will happen next year??

    It was SpyMac that said the CES rumors were false.

    <a href="http://www.spymac.com/index.html"; target="_blank">http://www.spymac.com/index.html</a>;

    "*Update: We made some phone calls regarding Jobs' rumored speech at the CES. Apparently, this rumor is completely false and there are currently no scheduled plans for Jobs to speak at the CES."

    So... we have zero confirmations (outside of a friend of a friend at Go2Mac) and a few refutations. MWSF should be enough for now.

    Bill Escheray (sp), CEO of Sprint is speaking in place of Bob Pittman (who candled well before Thanksgiving).

    If Jobs were speaking, which I doubt at this point, it is certainly not in place of Pittman.

    SpyMac didn't call anyone. Shawn King called them up the day the rumor came out and confirmed that Steve wasn't doing the keynote. Here's the extent of his message:

    Unlike "Lando", I actually called the CES folks to confirm or deny the rumor.

    &lt;http://www.go2mac.com/story.lasso?newsID=8788&gt;

    Brad Jones at CES (703-907-7060) told me that it's not true, that Bob Pittman, Co-COO of AOL Time Warner, had cancelled well before Thanksgiving and the slot has already been filled by Bill Esrey, Chairman and CEO

    Sprint Corporation.

    Another rumor crashing and burning under the weight of those inconvenient things called "facts".

    Anyways, that's that...

    Very true. Anyone who thinks that Hajime Sorayama sucks has absolutely no idea or understanding about art. While anime and it's related style of illustration may be a style that needs to be understood to be appreciated, it is more of a either like it or you don't. But to say that ALL japanese artist suck is simply ignorant.
