the new iMac - what type of RAM?
hi there. I'm going to buy a new iMac as soon as it's available here in Switzerland. 256MB RAM isn't enough for me, I want 768MB total. So...the prices on the apple store are pretty steep...I will definitely not spend 300$ for 512MB RAM. Does anyone know what kind of RAM I have to buy and where I can buy it for a price that's payable?

According to this page in the developer notes, you have to use PC133 RAM in the user-accessible slot. I think it's because you shouldn't mix PC100 with PC133 in the same machine. Apple uses PC133 RAM in the internal slot. (even though it's got a 100 MHz bus)
