    Price is still an issue.

I know a lot of people want to give Apple a try but change their minds due to the cost.

    Sad but true

G5, by far. Panther's just another OS release. We were all floored by Jaguar when it came out but it's just routine in my opinion. G4 iBooks are close, but it's still a small step compared to the PowerMac G5. Finally, Apple WON at something! First to 64-bit desktop computing.

Hopefully next year Apple will be the first to introduce a 64-bit laptop

Looks like the ol' cheese grater is racking up some serious love.

I pretty much figured that would be the case, but the other answers are interesting too.

Now that I think more about it, I might have to change my initial response of "iBook G4" to the iTMS and all that it entails.

Close tie, to me. The G5 doesn't even register on my radar, to be honest.

Yeah it's cool. But it's...a tower. Ugh. No thanks!

But I do appreciate what it represents, even though I have no desire to own one, and if I won one in a contest, I'd trade it for an iPod, 200 songs from the iTMS, 2GB RAM and the Adobe Creative Suite, a dozen Krispy Kremes, a case of Dr. Pepper and a Meredith Vieira blow-up doll.

Thats a lot to ask. However, I currently own all of these things (even Meredith). If you ever win a G5 drop me a PM and we'll talk.

    iTMS is the biggie...

however, the iBook G4 and 20-inch iMac are the best kept secret.

This is a hard one to answer. I mean, seriously, look at what Apple has done all year. It has been a constant set of product releases. From software to hardware, we have seen a lot come out of Cupertino.

My personal choice has got to be the G5 and in a close 2nd, the 15AlBook. There have been some known issues with the 15incher but I still love it. The G5 speaks for itself. I mean, look at what it does to software when it is optimized for it. With one software update, the FCP suite of apps gained so much speed it is rediculous. Speaking of the FCP suite...that is a close one too. All the apps in it rock. The iTMS was a huge deal too. It changed the way music distribution is done online. Because of it, a whole new market opened up, and more imitations were brought on than I care to think about.

Damn, the more I think about it the harder it gets to answer! They have done so much this year that is rediculous to even contemplate!!!! That is a great thing for the folks at Apple. I have used macs for a long time and now more than ever I am proud to me a Mac owner.

    Keep on rockin' Apple!!

    G5 definitely deserves some recognition

but, I think Apple's winning product is the iTunes/iPod/iTMS knock-out combo. That package alone is turning more heads towards apple than the g5 could ever hope for.

The adoption of the G5 was a needed and welcome surprise for me.

And the iBook is what made me make a purchase with apple this year. I was not going to buy an iBook until they had a G4, low and behold, they give me one.
