The only reason my parents baught me Adobe CS is so I can become a famous designer and pay their mortgage. So, it's effectively an investment in the future.
Cutting edge applications don't automatically make the guy smarter. Just to keep that in mind
Anyway. It's good that you are able to touch the industry apps early
Gotta learn as many as you can.....and you will be exhausted
Well, they aren't going to help me out TOO much. I'm probably going to get the 20", and they will probably pay 1/4-1/3 of the price.
I dono, thats still a lot of money.
20"=$1,300 USD
1/4 of $1,300=$325
Might not seem like too much to you, but you already got a lot of stuff! Your a lucky kid. Count your blessings.
Edit: Just read your profile. You have a 1.6 G5 that I highly doubt you paid for by yourself. I stand corrected, you are a VERY lucky kid. I wish I had that kind of power when I was 15...oh wait, I still wish I had that kind of power.

Actually, I DID pay for it myself. I saved for 2 years, and bought absolutely nothing for myself (still bought xmas gifts, bday gifts for people.) I saved all the money I made from fixing computers, etc. After the two years, I had enough to pay for the computer (although I had to downgrade to a combo drive. This was before the price drop).
Also, when my parents chip in for the ACD, that's going to tap in slightly to my birthday gifts. (bday is in May)
Okay, leonis...we get the point. Maybe your parents gave you toothpicks for Christmas, but you shouldn't take that out on us.
By the way, I bought my G5 1.8 and Studio display with my own heard earned cash, okay? Let's not make assumptions about my family's, or anyone else's, income.

By the way....what has been confirmed today is that I got a 2.8GHz P4 PC with Half GB RAM and a 17" monitor for FREE. Good for beta testing stuff
