So, I am trashed right now, but know that I am going to pay for it when I wake up. Anybody have a bullet proof hang over remedy or way to prevent them in the first place?

Stick to Stolichnaya and Bombay Blue Sapphire. No hangover the next day guaranteed

along with water, toss down some OJ. some liquid with sugar in it. (no carbonation unless you want to hurl)

stay awake until you don't feel like ass anymore, drinking water the entire time.

if you go to sleep loaded, you'll wake up in bad shape.

Bread, pasta, cereal, etc. You want to replenish your blood sugars, and you'll need carbs to do so. That's why alcimedes' suggestion of sugar sorta works.

glass of water or two and some advil before you go to sleep...of course the best way to prevent a hang-over is not to drink excessively (yes i know that is seldom an option for us Irish born)...and the best way to deal with a hang-over is to sleep past it (never had a hang-over in college because i would sleep till 2 or 3 the next afternoon)...doesn't help if you have to get up early...if you have to get up early, half a beer with advil is the best cure (hair of the dog that bit you and all that)...of course the boss might not be happy if you come in smelling of beer....

If you can get hold of a aldehyde dehydrogenase inhibitor like antabuse, that'll do wonders for you. Also take plenty of aspirin and acetaminophen.

[edit]Just kidding. Tylenol could harm your liver, and aspirin could cause stomach troubles. And antabuse will make your hangover much worse, but at least you'll know what it's like to be Asian.

If it's too late and you've already got the hangover, drink some Gatorade.

Thanks for all the advice. Before I went to bed I had turkey on a bagel and a massive bottle of Poland Spring. Oh, I also took two Tylenol PMs to make sure that I didn't wake up too early.

Lo and behold, I got up this morning hang over free. Thanks again for all the ideas.

Why would Tylenol PM be a bad idea?

I get terrible hang overs. Water and food at night is key, something that is bread based usually works well. Pita pit is open late around campus and they deliver till 4am.

Once the hang over does set it, greesy food is key. and OJ

or just sleep it off, that is my personal favourite way to deal with it.

if you have class, work, etc, sometimes you just have to tough it out. fresh air is good... sunshine is not. :-)

toughing it out is key, and it gets easier every time.

    cheers

    You need this

V8 is good sometimes, but sometimes can be deadly.

    Mashed potatoes are good.

You're so right that Alka-Seltzer MR is very key. I was hoping that there was some natural method. I feel I'm too chemical dependent as is.

I find it quite funny that they don't mention why you would need "morning relief", even though it's implications are completely obvious.

Edit: I didn't like the way I phrased what I said, so I changed it.
